Itinerary




Day 1: Arrival Jammu/Katra

Upon arrival at Jammu railway station our executive will receive you with warm welcome. Our representative will take you to Katra. Reach in Katra and check into the hotel. Have the rest in hotel, have the dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Katra – Vaishno Devi
Begin your day with a healthy breakfast. Today you will be proceeding to Banganga to trek for Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan Darshan-one of the most popular pilgrimages of India Situated in the lap of Trikuta Mountains across Katra town at an altitude of around 5200 feet. This temple is located about 12 km away from Katra; to visit this temple one has a pony or Travel by foot / Palkies from Katra. Popular Belief holds that anybody who walks the Himalayan trail to her abode to ask for a boon rarely goes back disappointed. We will visit this temple either by traveling on foot or hire a pony from Katra; the Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine is located in a cave towards the top of the Trikuta Mountains in Jammu- Kashmir. There are three pindies of Mata Mahakali, Mata Mahalakshmi and Mata Mahasaraswati. This is believed to be the only places where these three devise are found in one temple as natural pindies. The yatra follows the path Mata Vaishnodevi took when fleeing from Bhairon. In the evening escort back to hotel, have dinner and stay overnight at hotel in Katra.

Day 3: Departure
After a healthy breakfast check out from the Katra’s hotel. You will get the drop facility to railway station in Jammu for your onward journey. Trip ends.

Q. When is the Vaishno Devi Yatra conducted?

A. The Yatra is open throughout the year, but the peak season is during Navratras (March–April & September–October) when the temple sees the highest number of pilgrims. Weather conditions are most favorable between March and November.

Q. Is there an age limit for pilgrims?
A. There is no official age limit. However, it’s recommended that children below 5 years and elderly above 75 years consult a doctor before undertaking the trek due to the steep climb.

Q. Is the Yatra safe for solo or female travelers?
A. Yes, the Yatra is well-managed and secure, with round-the-clock security, medical aid stations, and Shrine Board assistance along the route. It is considered safe for solo and female travelers.

Q. Are there medical facilities on the route?
A. Yes, there are first-aid centers, dispensaries, and emergency medical facilities available at various points including Banganga, Adhkuwari, Sanjichhat, and Bhawan.

Q. Are mobile phones and internet available during the Yatra?
A. Mobile network is available up to Bhawan, primarily with BSNL, Airtel, and Jio. Internet is limited and may not be reliable beyond Katra.

Q. Is photography allowed at the temple?
A. Photography is strictly prohibited inside the sanctum sanctorum (Bhawan). However, you may take pictures in designated areas outside.
